1 Overall

PhD in Computer Science, 2022

1.1 My ability to achieve good, high-quality results is: very good

  • I’m good at working with constraints and prioritize what is needed for the operational needs. For example: Developing, running and examination of the new 15hp project course for the wp 1st year together with 3 colleagues. My budget was 120h, student evaulation was Student evaluation of the course was (Mycket bra: 71.4%, Ganska bra: 28%)
  • I organize my work and think about potential reuse of materials. For example Reusing course materials developed for engineering student project courses, in other courses.

1.2 My ability to cooperate and contribute towards a good working environment is: exellent

  • Joint continued development and running the OOP course. Together with colleagues from our other campus.

  • Accepting thesis student projects when other people refuse to tutor “beyond” their competence.

1.3 My ability to contribute towards operational development is: very good

  • Being agile and flexible regarding tools and techniques for teaching and meeting students, for example live streaming weekly vlogs to keep a connection to the students when going full distance learning.
  • Traveling to our other campus to meet the campus students in person.
  • Adding contingency plans to courses and examinations as the pandemic could potentially disrupt courses in a catastrophic way. Removnig some stress for students and colleagues.
  • I’m happy to help and discuss with the colleagues in the IoT lab. For example as a reader for several papers.
  • Accepting thesis student projects when other people refuse to tutor “beyond” their competence.

2 Education

During the revision period, my involvement in education was ~70% (on average).

2.1 My ability to implement, develop and lead high-quality teaching is: excellent

  • Online supervison/tutoring of students one-on-one using Slack.
  • Online tutoring of students in thesis work and industry projects both one-on-one and in group settings.
  • Running hybrid courses with the goal to get campus students back to campus after the pandemic.
  • Actually following the rules and regulations regarding examination.
  • Reading, and critically assessing student thesis work with the goal of improving quality.

2.2 My ability to create a commitment to and an interest in the subject is: excellent

  • Regular vlogs in OOA/D and meeting campus students at campus.
  • Very active on Slack for answering student questions and being generally supportive to struggling students.

  • Continued improvement of Java OOP course, including automatic testing pipelines for student submissions.
  • New materials for OOA/D course developed in the face of coming back from the pandemic.
  • Automatically and Manually assessing ~150 student submissions within 15 working days of submission deadlines

3 Research

During the revision period, my involvement in research was 30% (on average).

3.1 My ability to carry out high-quality research is: very good

  • I managed to publish two journal papers, one conference paper and two workshop papers during the period

4.1 My ability to produce information about research and to collaborate with the rest of society is: very good

  • Member in BOTI group for technical information research and external monitoring.
  • Connecting with industry partners to conduct and tutor successfull projects with regional and national companies: Blika Solutions, Dizparc, Milou, Occdec, Öhrlings PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Softhouse Consulting AB.
  • Successfully found inustry collaboration partners to invest considerable time and resources in our HÖG21 research propsal: Forecasting architctural degradation: Sinch, Naviga Content Labs, FortNox

Provide any additional information that you think is important to knowwhen appraising your work performance, such as extended sick leaves, parent leave, engagements that took significant time, etc. If you think that your salary is incorrect, for example, compared to your peers, please note that here and motivate why. Be as specific as possible.

I find my salary to low for the engagement I put into my work. For example, being hired as an administrator (informatör) for a few years has higher salary. I have been at the university for 20 years now and I’m basically payed below median and average salary among peers at the deparment and has been for several years. I think I deserve at least an average pay among peers, if not higher consirering my experience. I hope things will improve…
